“Kafka on the Shore” — Haruki Murukami

Murukami had the effect on me that I had expected Rushdie would: it feels like a new post-Murukami world.

Kafka on the Shore is an incredible story playing out on multiple planes of imagination, using very few characters, and without leaning on complex concepts or historical props. It’s supposedly his weirdest work, but it didn’t feel over the top. #bookstagram #magicrealism
